Pokemon Go.... friend or foe?

I was just reading a quick note related to the pokemon go craze.  Authorities are beginning to say "enough is enough" in terms as to where and how pokemon go players can interact and capture these virtual creatures.  (the story is here:http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2016/09/pokemon-go-church-russian-blogger-sokolovsky-faces-jail-term/)

It might seem over-challenging but I do believe that there is a place and a spot for everything.   A real problem is that all the "how to" and "secrets of" the pokemon go series everywhere state that the best strategy is to be there in a location for at least 5 minutes and then pokemons will start to appear

While that might be true, staying in a single location for 2 hours is not only boring but also extenuating.  People (specially young ones) will start to walk about, do other stuff with their phones or even with OTHER phones and electronics like the PSP or such.  Doing this in the park is ok, but when other people are trying to enjoy a movie, tour a museum or even pray during their Faith's religions services is not only rude but can also incur in serious economical and legal problems.

I believe that the problems that the world society is having with events such as the pokemon go craze, just as the flash mobs and others is the perfect example of what happens when society is afraid to be "politically incorrect".

Like most "older adults" (when did adults became: young, middle and older??? anyway...) I was also raised with the guidelines to respect my elders, not to run in Church,  Sit down when I go to the movies (and do not run about like a crazy person) and so on.  Today's youth doesn't do that.

While there is no question that their adult years WILL be definitely troublesome and will have to fix the damage that we, our parents and our ancestors did with the world as they rammed through it seeking power and ritches, nothing will come from that adulthood if they are not taught the basics on ethics and moral.

Maybe Pokemon Go is a friend of the future because by being a foe of the present it is forcing today's power-weelding adults to make adjustments and control tomorrow's power weelding adults.

ATTACK ON TITAN....wtf??

As many of you I am sure, I finished -barely- watching "attack on Titan".  I follow the manga on several of the many wonderful portable apps out there, still I haven't been able to actually read it... NONETHELESS, I follow it!

Maybe one day I will have the balls to do it.  (^ .  ^)

Still, I watched in horror as the first Titans attacked the human settlement and saw the murder of Eren's Mom....  Good Anime Heavens!  What is going on?! What kind of sick mangaka decides that it is a good idea to portray the murder of a mom and in such a terrible manner???  It felt like Bambi's mum dying all over again.

Of course, I went online to see if it was just a "prune" thing of mine, but no.   Most of the sites I saw said exactly the same thing:  "WTF????"  On that note I do recommend these guys:

It is an important shock and I think this might be the first and foremost reason why the anime is so capable of hooking you in.  That and the entry song which, of course, is badass.

But I did not plan on talking about the entire series. just Annie LeonHardt.  What is going on with her?  She's, of course, the first notion that there is a plot of humans with a quarrel against humanity... Which makes me wonder, so, each time they look at themselves in the mirror, do they scream at themselves:  "I hate you?!"

I do not have much faith in humanity, but to battle my own species seems somewhat idiotic...  Then again, it might be just me.

The Over-run plots

Any person who has taken upon him or herself the challenge of writing something other than a school report; whether it is a poem, a short story or even a novel can relate to this:  There are only so many twists that you can give any writing

Twists are created to make the story more exciting, but there are only so many different kind of enemies that can be there, right? So, naturally, it comes a time when all the Manga and the Anime that belong to a specific genre are pretty much the same darn thing.  This is particularly true with Shoujo and Slice of Life genres.

I haven't dedicated that long to reading manga or to watch thousands of animes.  But it is pretty standard; sad though because there are topics that can give way to so much more while others are squeezed beyond rationality to come up with a few meager good chapters....

Translations from original? Not always...

So, I was reading a new manga...  Not that I have a lot of time to do so because if I do not work, I won't have enough money to spend on my "hobbies", but if I can't spend money in my hobbies, then what's the real point of working?!?!  ....  Oh yeah, pay bills, provide sustenance...right...

Anyway, I was reading the manga in my native tongue and I was flabbergasted!  Terrible translations!
For those who are just as neophytes as I am (or even more), A Japanese manga, which is basically a Japanese comic, is considered "raw" in its original form.  When the translation teams get their hands on them, they become "translations in process" and they are translated to whatever language the translation team masters... or rather should master.

Once the translation is completed, the "raw" moves to another area where the dialogues are erased clean, this process is called "cleaning" and then the "raw" is no more.  it becomes a "cleaned copy".  Then the translation done is typeset and placed instead of the dialogues that came originally.  The trick here is to mimic the true type (which is the letter type) as much as possible and make sure that you can make the letter large or short without really damaging the text or the images.

Then you get to read it.  Now, the problem is that some of these groups take already translated copies and re-translate them.  In such cases, the "feeling" of the original content is not only lost but misrepresented.

That doesn't really damage the reputation of the fan sub that is translating it, but the actual impact of the Manga that is being read.  The same happens when the time to translate anime comes,

In both cases,for instance, translating to Spanish means that there need to be "standard" words used.  Words that are used all through Spanish-speaking countries without dealing with slang words.  In a world that has no more boundaries and where constant communication makes slang words come together in a unique dictionary it is sincerely a sad loss to have Anime and Manga translations that become hard as cardboard without the ingeniousness and piquant flavor of the on-spot jokes that the original mangakas and anime creators developed in their work
